Cinema Revisited!

Cinema Revisited!

What makes a good film? There are some objective and some subjective criteria. I will not analyze these now. But even for the same person, the mood, the expectation, the company one has (to name a few factors), may substantially affect whether he/she will appreciate the film. I like to see again a film that impressed me, after several years: it certainly seem different because we change (hopefully we grow!).

There are some things however that indicate greatness. If one keeps thinking about it during the next days and wants to discuss about it. Even more, if one does not want to see anything else for the next couple of days because he/she wants to keep the taste of the film unblemished. After a decade, how many films one remembers? Which are the ones that really stand because they had something to say which transcends the time elapsed?

Back in 2015 I started a blog for films, named 10000movies. It was an era where cinema was kind of an obsession. I would write about the worst and the best films I watched, which explains why you will see film ratings either close to one or ten (out of ten).

This is a different era 😄. From time to time you may see a post about a film I enjoyed. It will not necessarily be a film that won this year's Oscar or took this year an award from a film festival. The mind works in mysterious ways and reminds us of the important things we witnessed: this is the context! Hope you'll enjoy!
